| Description | This image shows the Prince of Wales taking part in the inspection of a battalion. The troops behind him are all standing to attention, with their rifles propped over their left shoulders. Although there to inspect the troops, the Prince is actually looking towards the camera and away from the soldiers. Whilst serving at the Front as a staff officer with the Grenadier Guards, the Prince was also expected to perform official duties in his capacity as royal representative.
