AMONG the advantages offered by this Corporation are —
1. The Guarantee of an extensive and liiglily respectable body of Shareholders.
2. An Equitable Division of the Whole Profits among tiie Assured in the Participation Scheme.
3. The probability afforded by a successful business of a periodically increasing Bonus. And,
4. Policies Indisputable, except on the ground of fraud.
Thus combining the leading features of a Mutual with the stMbility of a Proprietary Company.
The Annual Revenue of the Company is now upwards of £200,000, and the Invested Funds are
upwards of £600,000.
DIVISION OF PROFITS.
The Company having, in the year 1861, completed the Fifth Quinquennial period of its existence,
the Directors, after a careful investigation into the Life Department, resolved to recommend, from the
profits of the past five years, a Bonus, present and prospective, to the Policy-holders of the Partici-
pating Class, of £1, 7s. 6d. per cent, per annum, on all Policies current at the 31st of January 1S61 ;
and although from the Report it appeared that a considerably higher Bonus might have been declared,
the Meeting resolved to adopt the recommendation of the Directors, and to carry forward the surplus
for appropriation at the next Declaration of Profits.
REDUCED RATES FOR THE EAST AND WEST INDIES.
The Directors liave adopted a new Scale of Rates for the East and West Indies and China,
considerably lower than those charged by this or, they believe, any other Company, but differing
from the old system, in respect that no reduction takes place on the assured returning to Europe or
proceeding to any other part of the world not chargeable with an extra premium.
According to this method, the Assured, instead of being subjected to a heavy Extra Premium
during the years of residence in the Tropics, has the option, by paying a fixed rate, of throwmg the
Extra over the whole currency of the Assurance.
LIFE ASSURANCES without Profits effected, and ANNUITIES Sold on very
favourable terms.
Liberal Surrender Values allowed, or new Policies granted in lieu thereof.
The Premiums may he 'paid Yearly, Half -Yearly, or Quarterly, for a limited number of
years only, or by a Single Payment. No Entry Money or Stamp Duty charged,
FIRE INSURANCE
Undertaken on similar terms with other respectable Offices.
]^,B. — No charge is made for Policy Stamp when the sum insured amounts to £200, or on
Transfers from other Offices.
Reports of last Investigation, Tables of Rates, and all other information, may be obtained by
application at the Head Offices or Agencies.
