(6.) If the sender desires that a special conveyance be used, or if the
distance exceeds two miles, and a public conveyance is not avail-
able in both directions, the actual cost of a special conveyance
(generally Is. a mile) must be paid in addition to the Express fee
and postage.
(c.) The Sender is responsible for the fee and charges. The fee is in no
case less than M., and this and the postage must be prepaid by
means of stamps affixed to the Letter or Parcel. When the
distance exceeds two miles, or in any case where a special convey-
ance is required, at least one half of the amount payable in respect
of fee and charge for special conveyance must be prepaid, and the
deficiency, if any, will be demanded from the addressee.
Exception.
Any Express Packet, Letter, or Parcel, not exceeding 5 lbs. in weight, may
be delivered by foot messenger up to a distance of three miles, if the sender
does not wish to pay for a special conveyance. The Express fee chargeable
in this case is M. per mile, in additon to the postage. For distances of more
than three miles the cost of a special conveyance must be paid in all cases
(if no public conveyance is available) in addition to the Express fee and
postage.
An International Express Service is also in operation between the United
Kingdom and certain Foreign Countries, particulars of which can be
obtained at any Post Office.
Inland Money Orders.
Not exceeding £1, commission 2d.

Inland Telegraph Money Orders.
Money may be transmitted by Telegraph Money Order between all Post
Offices in the United Kingdom authorised to transact Telegraph and
Money Order business.
The commission is —
For sums up to £3 id. Up to £10 6d.
In addition to the Commission, a charge is made at the ordinary Inland
rate for the Official Telegram authorising payment at the Office of Payment,
the minimum being Qd.

Foreign Telegraph Money Orders.
Money may be transmitted by telegraph money order to the following
countries : —
Certain offices only in Austria, Luxemburg, Norway, Roumania and Sweden.
Any place in Belgium, Germany, Holland, Switzerland and Italy — except
Tripoli and on the Red Sea.
The charges are — a money order commission at the rate for orders payable
abroad ; the cost of a telegram of advice at the rate per word for telegrams
for the country in which the order is to be paid ; and a supplementary fee
of 2d. per order.
