Tlie Board of Management consists of the members
selected by the subscribers and various public and
charitable bodies in the city of Glasgovi^. James
Neilson, Esq., Biggar Park, Biggar, chairman.
The Home is situated at Lenzie, about half a mile
to tlie south-east of the railway station. It has accom-
modation for G2 patients, of whom 30 are taken from
the Glasgow Royal Infirmary, and 24 from the general
public resident in Glasgow and the neighbourhood,
and 8 from the "Western Infirmary of Glasgow.
The subscribers to the Home have the privilege of
recommending the general public patients; and lines
of recommendation are furnished by Mr. William
Crawford, 11 West Nile Street, Glasgow.

This society was established for the purpose of sup-
plyingin some measure the necessities, and contributing
towards the relief of distressed natives and descendants
of natives of the northern counties of Scotland. A
contribution of £-1 4s. constitutes membership ; the
payment of which may be extended over the first four
years after admission, at the rate of £1 Is. per
annum.
HOUSE OF SHELTER FOR FEMALES.
4 Hill Street, Garnet Hill.
The " Shelter" was instituted in 1850 ; its object
being to provide a home for females on their libera-
tion from prison, who are desirous to reform and to
support themselves by honest industry. The average
number of inmates in the "Shelter" is about 36.
They are employed in needle-work, the institution
receiving the proceeds of their labour, in return for
which the inmates are lodged, fed, and clothed.

ASSOCIATION FOR THE RELIEF OF INCU-
RABLES FOR GLASGOW AND THE WEST
OF SCOTLAND.

This association is formed under the auspices of
the Scottish National Society for the Relief of Incu-
rables, and has for its objects the establishment and
maintenance of one or more hospitals for the relief of
persons in Glasgow and the West of Scotland labour-
ing under chronic and incurable diseases, and the
aiding of such persons in their own homes, or in such
other ways as the directors may from time to time
see fit. The association has an institution near
Kirkintilloch, Dumbartonshire, known as the Broom-
hill Home, and spends £100 a month in assisting
incurables in their own houses. The whole affairs
of the association are managed by a board of directors
consisting of twenty-one members, in addition to Miss
Beatrice Clugstou, as promoter, and eighteen ex

MISSION COAST HOME, SALTCOATS.
The object of this institution is to afford a gratui-
tous home at the sea side for two or three weeks to
the poor in Glasgow who have been sick, in order to
promote their convalescence. The full value of the
income is exhausted on the inmates, and no expense
incurred either in management or collecting subscrip-
tions, which may be handed in London to T. Corbet,
Esq., Newchurch Street ; Kilmarnock, J. Stewart,
Esq., Stewart Brothers; Ardrossan, A. Guthrie;
Saltcoats, W. Bryden ; Glasgow, W. M'Ewen, Esq.,
17 St. Vincent Lane ; J. M'Callum, Religious Institu-
tion Rooms, 172 Buchanan Street ; or J. Smith, 2
Craignestock Place.
LOYAL CALEDONIA LODGE OF ODD-
FELLOWS, M.U.
Instituted 1340. Place of Meeting, 175 Buchanan St.
This society has for its object the relief cf its mem-
bers who may be incapable of attending to business
through sickness, &c., and for securing at death a
payment for funeral expenses. Members who are
under twenty-four years of age on joining this society
pay 5s. of entry money, and 6s. 6d. a quarter of con-
tiibutions thereafter. Those above twenty-four pay
higher, according to the age at which they enter.
Members who have been six months in the society
receive, when unwell, aliment at the following rates :
— 10s. a week for the first six months, 7s. 6d. for the
nest six months, and 5s. a week thereafter, with
medical attendance and medicine; and at the decease
of a member his representatives receive £10 as fune-
ral allowance ; on the decease of his wife he receives
£5. Meetsevery alternate Wednesday. James Boyle,
