EXAMINATIONS OF PERSONS UNDER SPIRITUAL CONCERN II
Almighty would grant me my desire,16 it would be. That I might depart &
be with Christ: & that while he is pleased to continue me here, he would
give me grace to glorify his name. I usd to say sometimes when I went away
from a Sermon, How (according to a note of a Sermon I heard lately) How
well he preach’d! but now I oft go away with that, How ill have I liv’d: Sin is
now become the chief burden & grief of my Soul: but in the hopes of being
delivered from it, I think I can heartily say with the Apostle
Thanks be God thro’Jesus Christ Our Lord.
Job 6:8.
