To the archdeacon of Lothian. Mandate to collate William de
Dalketh, monk of Arbroath, osb, sch.theol., to the priory of
Urquhart, said order, as a reserved benefice and non-elective dignity,
value not exceeding -£40 to a non-resident, dependent on the mon¬
astery of Dunfermline and wont to be governed by a monk of that
monastery, vacant by the promotion of William, former prior, to the
said monastery of Dunfermline, although the priory has been unlaw¬
fully detained by a certain Gilbert Smert, calling himself monk of
Urquhart.1
