dispensed of a defect of birth as the son of an unmarried man and
an unmarried woman to be promoted to all holy orders and to hold
a benefice even if with cure, to find out if the dispensation was
lawful and if so to commend him to the said parish church. Alex¬
ander, provost of Lyncloudan put the letters into effect and Duncan
obtained possession of the church; but subsequently Eliseus, bishop
of Candida Casa, provided him by ordinary authority to the parish
church of Perton, said diocese, vacant by the death outside the curia
of Alexander Cader, late rector, which church he continues to hold
at present; and he later resigned Kyrkgonen through his procurator
Thomas de Butil, archdeacon of Candida Casa, papal chaplain and
auditor of appeals, into the hands of Guigo Flandini, archdeacon of
Majorca, papal notary and regent of chancery. William is, therefore,
to be provided to Kyrkgonen, thus vacant, notwithstanding he has
lately been reserved a benefice with or without cure, of the kind
wont to be assigned to secular clerks, in the gift of the bishop of
St Andrews and the chapter of St Andrews, os A, even if a canonry
and prebend, parsonage or office in a cathedral or collegiate church.

To the bishop of Dunblane, the archdeacon of Majorca, and the
official of Dunblane. Mandate to collate John de Busby, canon of
Moray, to a canonry, prebend and the chancellorship of Glasgow,
a non-elective non-major dignity with cure, value not exceeding
^60 old sterling to a non-resident. John, holding the parish church
of Eglisham, Glasgow diocese, and John de Erskyn, holding a
canonry and the prebend called Campsy and the chancellorship of
Glasgow, wishing to exchange these benefices, resigned them into
the hands of William, bishop of Glasgow, who admitted them by
ordinary authority and by the same authority effected the exchange.
John de Busby, however, had doubted the validity of his provision,
but his possession is confirmed as above; notwithstanding that he
holds a canonry and prebend of Moray, a perpetual chaplaincy in
