292 LETTERS OF POPE BENEDICT XIII
the parish church of the Holy Cross of Stirling and the chaplaincy
of St Laurence in Perth, St Andrews diocese, which are in lay
patronage and require residence by statute, combined value not
exceeding ^45 old sterling to a non-resident, and that he has
recently accepted the parish church of Forgund, St Andrews diocese,
by virtue of a former papal reservation of a benefice in the gift of
the bishop and chapter of St Andrews, which church he had held
for six weeks before demitting it when he heard it was reserved to
papal provision. John is dispensed to hold the chaplaincies along
with the canonry, prebend and chancellorship notwithstanding the
statute of residency as above, but on his peaceful assecution to the
canonry, prebend and chancellorship the above letters of reservation
are to become invalid.

church of Blessed Mary of Lindores, osb, which is dedicated to the
Blessed Virgin Mary, on certain feastdays [named].

To John de Busbi, chancellor of Glasgow. Indult for John, secretary
of Robert, duke of Albany and governor of Scotland, holding a
canonry and prebend and the chancellorship of Glasgow, which is
a non-major dignity with cure, a canonry and prebend of Moray,
and lately holding perpetual chaplaincies in the parish church of the
Holy Cross of Stirling and of St Laurence in Perth, St Andrews
diocese, collective value to a non-resident in the chapels and
churches not exceeding -£120 old sterling, to hold along with the
chancellorship one other incompatible benefice even if a dignity,
parsonage, or office in a cathedral or collegiate church, or an
elective major or principal dignity in a cathedral or collegiate church
with cure, with powers of exchange for two only incompatible
