Alexander de Lichton, of baronial birth, to the order of St John of
Jerusalem of Torfichine, to be provided with a reasonable share of
the common goods of the hospital; and if John Benvy is removed
from the preceptorship of the said hospital, value not exceeding
.£40 sterling to a non-resident [as in Reg Aven 336,245-245v above]
Alexander is to be provided to the said preceptorship.

To master John Garsie, dean of Tarasonne, papal chaplain and
auditor of appeals. Mandate. The petition of Henry de Ramsay,
priest, St Andrews diocese, had contained that formerly the hospital
of St Germain which, as he asserts, is a benefice in perpetual title
wont to be governed by clerks of the Augustine order, professing
the red star of Bethlehem and in the gift of the bishop of Bet-Lahm,
becoming vacant on the death outside the curia of John Rollock,
rector called master of the said hospital, Henry, bishop of St
Andrews, and John, bishop of Bet-Lahm, had each claimed the right
of presentation and provision, Henry had then provided the said
Henry de Ramsay, and John had provided Roger de Edinburgh,
priest, said diocese. But it had then been shown by Richard de
Merton, calling himself canon of Scone, said order and diocese,
first, and then by the said Henry de Ramsay, that Roger was a
notorious schismatic and adherent of Peter Filardi de Candia, calling
himself Alexander v. Mandatory letters were then sent to the abbot
