14-16 BENEDICT XIII
Cluniac, Premonstratensian, of Grandmont, Valliscaulian, Bene¬
dictine, Augustinian, or hospitals of St John of Jerusalem or St Mary
Teutonicorum or any others for a period of two years from this
date, notwithstanding any statutes and constitutions to the contrary.

To the same. Indult to provide anyone of his choice to any benefice
provided they are not major or principal dignities in cathedrals,
collegiate churches or conventual priories, and anyone thus pro¬
vided who holds an incompatible benefice is held to demit the same.

To the same. Faculty is granted to dispense anyone from any defect
of birth to be promoted to all sacred orders and to hold two benefices
even if one is a canonry and prebend in a cathedral church; and if
the person so dispensed has studied law or theology for five years
he may hold three benefices even if one is a canonry and prebend
in a cathedral church, or if he holds a master’s degree in theology
or a licenciate or doctorate in law he may hold one, two or three
or more benefices with or without cure if they are compatible, pro¬
vided they are not major or principal dignities in cathedral or
collegiate churches.

To the same. Indult to take up for the building fund of churches in
Scotland the fruits from vacant archbishoprics, bishoprics, abbacies,
priories, conventual priories, dignities, parsonages and administra¬
tion or offices hitherto reserved by Gregory xi, Clement vn and
other pontiffs to the apostolic camera up to the date of this letter.
