defect of birth as the daughter of an unmarried man and an un¬
married woman; and if this is true she is to be removed and a
suitable person provided as prioress, who is to be consecrated by the
mandatories or any other catholic bishop and the said bishop is to
receive the oath of fealty, which is then to be sent by letters patent
under her seal to the pope by the next envoy before administration
of the goods is allowed; but without prejudice to the rights of the
bishop of St Andrews to whom the monastery is known to be
subject.

To the dean of Huesca, the archdeacon of Argyll and the official of
Dunkeld. Mandate to collate Richard de Cornel, canon of Glasgow,
of noble birth, lic.dec., envoy of Robert, duke of Albany,
governor of Scotland, to a canonry of Glasgow, the sacristanship,
which is not a dignity and is non-elective without cure, and the
prebend of Erskyn, value not exceeding 20 merks Scots to a non¬
resident. On the death outside the curia of Nicholas de Erskyn then
holding this benefice, Richard by virtue of letters reserving him a
benefice in that church had claimed and accepted the above; but
later he doubted the validity of this which, however, is confirmed
as above notwithstanding that he is known to hold the archdeaconry
of Dunkeld, and recently was provided by papal letters to the arch¬
deaconry of Lothian then vacant in a certain way, upon his peaceful
assecution to which he was to demit the archdeaconry of Dunkeld;
and now on his peaceful assecution to the canonry, prebend and
sacristanship the said letters of provision to Lothian are to become
invalid.
