To the abbot of Kelso. Mandate to confirm David, the abbot and
the convent of Melrose, o.cist. in possession of the patronage of the
parish church of Magnacaveris, which had been granted to a former
abbot of Melrose and his successors by William, earl of Douglas,
lord of the barony of Magnacaveris and true patron of the said
church, and later confirmed by Thomas, earl of Mar, under whose
lordship the said barony was held, and also subsequently confirmed
by David and Robert, kings of Scots.1

To the abbot of Holyrood, Edinburgh, the abbot of Lindores, and
the provost of St Andrews, Grenoble. Mandate to confirm William
Bonar, clerk, St Andrews diocese, in possession of the perpetual
vicarage of the parish church of Innerkeler, St Andrews diocese,
value not exceeding 14 merks sterling. The pope had granted William
the reservation of a benefice in the gift of the abbot and convent of
Aberbrothock and William had subsequently been provided to the
above church, but had doubted the validity of his presentation as at
the time of the papal letters of reservation he was about 21 years
of age.

To the official of Glasgow. Mandate to confirm John Thomas,
priest, St Andrews diocese, in possession of the parish church of
Monnefrich, St Andrews diocese, value not exceeding 25 merks old
sterling to a non-resident, vacant by the death outside the curia of
John Garrick, former vicar. John Thomas had been collated by
ordinary authority and peaceably held it, but for certain causes he
