6th (Service) Battalion Somerset Light Infantry (1915), 27th City of
Winnipeg Battalion, 6th Canadian Infantry Brigade, 2nd Division ; 8th
Battalion Bedfordshire Regiment, and 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters,
6th Division ; and latterly commanded 19th Labour Group Headquarters
Received O.B.E. (Military Division); mentioned in Dispatches. Order of
Wen-Hu conferred by His Excellency the President of the Republic
of China.
2ND LIEUTENANT GEORGE FREDERICK GRAHAM SMITH, 26
St Andrew Square, Edinburgh.
Enlisted 3rd Royal Scots Fusiliers. Promoted 2nd Lieutenant and served
with 2/3rd Scottish Horse.
2nd LIEUTENANT JOHN FRAZER SMITH, no George Street, Edinburgh.

Received Commission in 7th Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders 1st August
1916. Trained in this country and went to France on 4th February 1917*
Killed in action at Battle of Arras on nth April 1917.

Gazetted Lieutenant 4th Northumbrian (Howitzer) Brigade Royal Field
Artillery December 1914. Promoted Acting Captain and Acting Major.
Served in this country until April 1915, and in France from that date until
4th May 1917. Wounded and discharged. Awarded Military Cross.
