CAPTAIN ROBERT BEVERIDGE SMITH, 24A Bernard Street, Leith.
Enlisted in Seaforth Highlanders in November 1914. Went to France in
June 1916, and was severely wounded in October of that year. Promoted
Captain. Mentioned in Dispatches.
CAPTAIN THOMAS STODART WHYTE SMITH, 45 Queen Street,
Edinburgh.
Received Commission as 2nd Lieutenant Royal Scots in March 1915.
Later Captain King's African Rifles, and served in Nyasaland and
Portuguese East Africa from 1917.
LIEUTENANT PATRICK CECIL SMYTHE, O.B.E., 48 Castle Street,
Edinburgh. (Apprentice.)
Received Commission as 2nd Lieutenant 6th Royal Highlanders (Black
Watch) 18th January 1915. Served overseas with 6th and gth Royal
Highlanders (Black Watch) from October 1917 till April 1918. Appointed
Supervisor of Physical and Recreational Training April 1918 to January
1919. Acting Captain February 1917 to July 1917. April 1918 to date of
demobilisation. Awarded O.B.E. Mentioned in Dispatches.
JAMES WALKER SOMERVILLE, 76 George Street, Edinburgh.
Enlisted in 8th Battalion the Royal Scots on 1st April 1916. Thereafter
transferred to 469th H.S. Employment Company (Labour Corps) and
promoted Sergeant. Demobilised 28th February 1919.
CAPTAIN ROBERT SOMERVILLE, 4 Albyn Place, Edinburgh.
Joined Lowland Heavy Battery R.G.A. 4th November 1915. Thereafter
served as Brigade Supply Officer, and with R.G.A. Relinquished Com-
mission on account of ill-health on 2nd July igi8.
CAPTAIN ERIC JOHN POTT STEVENSON, Kelso. (Apprentice.)
Joined University Cadet Corps 4th August igi4- Received Commission as
2nd Lieutenant Royal Field Artillery in September igi.4. Served in France
and Italy from July igi.5 till demobilised in April igig. Mentioned in
Dispatches from Italy.
