Hazaribagh and Gaya, the cattle at the Hazaribagh
Reformatory School and the newly started municipal dairy
farm at Gaya. He further attended the meetings of the
Divisional Development Board at Patna and Bhagalpur at
which he read papers on various important subjects, the Bihar
and Orissa Provincial Exhibition held at Bankipore and also
an Exhibition and Cattle Show at Daltonganj which was
opened by the Hon'ble Sir Courtney Terrell, Kt., Chief Justice,
in March 1935.

19. Mr. Sen acted as a member and Secretary to the
Bihar and Orissa Veterinary Examination Board for the
professional examinations of subordinate officers held in April,
and as Secretary only at the same examinations held in October
1934. He was appointed an examiner, and examined the
students in Hygiene, Dietetics and Animal Breeding at the
annual and diploma examinations of the Bihar and Orissa
Veterinary College. He also delivered lectures to the cadets
of the Hazaribagh Police Training College on common
contagious diseases of cattle, and on their general management.

20. During the year, efforts were made by Mr. Sen to
increase the strength of the subordinate veterinary service, and
as a result the post of 3rd touring veterinary assistant
surgeon in the Sadr subdivision of Gaya district at Tikari has
been sanctioned. He moved the district board, Patna, for
the creation of a new post of touring veterinary assistant
surgeon at Bakhtiarpur and also the district board, Monghyr,
for another such post at Lakhisarai. Most likely both these
posts will be sanctioned. A flood having occurred in Dinapore
area of Patna district, Mr. Sen made a special tour with a
view to getting an idea of the loss of cattle in that locality

21. He spent 125 days on tour and travelled 4,843 miles
by road, in addition to the railway journeys during the year.

The above itself is a heavy list. This together with the
account of the work detailed in subsequent pages shows that
Mr. Sen worked with great zeal.

22. Assistant Director, Babu Nilmoni Chattarji, held
charge of the Range throughout the year. During the period
he inspected all the veterinary hospitals and dispensaries of
the range except those at Phulbani and Kendrapara. He also
inspected the offices of the veterinary inspectors, Cuttack and
Chaibassa Circles, the cattle sheds of the Purulia municipality
and the cattle of the Purulia and Cuttack Jails.
