303. Sir, I have dealt with my brother, collonell Alexander, and shall desire yow
may shew my brother Gavin that it is my desire he forbeare to change you ;
but ordie yow wold give him band to submitt to Sir Adam Blair and any other
gentlman whom Sir Adam shall choise in what may concerne yow in that par-
ticular. For as I am wnwilling to be heard with any of my friends, so in
speciall with yow, with whom I shall still desire the continuance of friendshipe,
and to evidence that I am,
Sir, your affectionat friend to serve yow,
Cochrane.

304. Rycht worshipfull, the rolle of these that are to satisfie Drunilanricke being
appointed to be filled up before the extracting of the commissioun (which will
