165. Richt traist freind and nychbour, eftir hartlie commendationis. Forsamekill
as I haif ressauit ane letter fra the Chanciller for staying me and myne to cum
forduart to this raid, nochtwithstandinge the vther proclamationis or lettres
direct thairanent ; quhairof I thocht gud lykwyis to aduerteis zow, that ze neid
nocht to trauell at the present, wnto new aduertisment : anent the quhdk I
salbe zour warrand. And as I salhappine to haif the certantie heireftir, sail
aduerteis zow thairof, wnto the quhilk tyme remitting the rest, will commit

zour letter, willing me to conweine the Lairdis of Blah*, Calduell, and vtheris
, my freindis for perfyitting the turnis amangis vs ; quhilk I wald be weray
willing to do and sie perfyitit. Bot in respect of the redemptioun of my landis
agains ane Nasmitht, quhairinto, I dout nocht, ze haif hard how my Lord of
Hamiltoun reft my servandis, my sduir, and lies driftit tyme with me, that I
am compeUit to seik the law for my avine. Anent the quhilk I am swa bissie
that, at the present, I can nocht gudlie haif thaim conwenit by vther adois in
hand. Bot how sone I may possibdlie haif my freindis conwenit, sail aduerteis
zow thairof with all dehgence for keiping tryist amangis vs. The rest thairto :
