arthur, in the parish of Cawdor, and died 16th March, 1833,
aged 87, having had issue — George, Isabella, and Flora. Their
descendants emigrated.
II. John Aird, married, firstly, his cousin, Janet Robertson,
daughter of George Robertson, Balcony, and of his wife, Christian
Douglas. Issue —
1. Christina Aird.
2. Elizabeth Aird, married Alexander Munro, Drummond.
John Aird married, secondly, Catherine Ross, sister of
Donald Ross, farmer, Nonekiln, parish of Rosskeen. Issue —
1. Anne Aird, married to Donald Kemp, Park and Sowar-
dale, in Kiltearn parish. Issue — (la) George Kemp; (2a) David
Kemp; (3a) Donald Kemp, in Clair, parish of Kiltearn.
2. f George Aird, died abroad.
3. Twins- Donald Aird, died 1853, aged about 90, having
married and left issue, who emigrated.
4. Flora Aird, died unmarried.
5. David Aird, died unmarried.
John Aird was in Lord Loudon's Regiment in 1745-6. He
had a farm at one time in the east end of the parish of Creich,
and then in Newmore, parish of Rosskeen, where he died in 1788,
very aged. John Aird and his brother George were with their
parents in the Church of Nonekiln, parish of Rosskeen, when it
fell in 1714 during Divine service, but they escaped uninjured.
III. William Aird (son of William Aird and Flora Douglas)
had the farm of Torran, and afterwards of Heathfield, in the
parish of Kilmuir-Easter. He married Elizabeth Munro, daughter
of William Munro, farmer, Invergordon, and his wife, Janet
Squair. William Aird died in January, 1797, aged 82. Issue — ■
1. Janet Aird, married to Rose, teacher in Ardclack,
and had issue.
2. Flora Aird, married Donald Murray, farmer, Tuchendown,
parish of Rosskeen. They left issue who emigrated. She died
about 1833, aged 80.
