Rainy, born in December, 1860, married 8th December, 1892, to
Andrew Harper, M.A., B.D., Professor of Oriental languages at
Ormond College, Melbourne. (46) Adam Holland Rainy, born
3rd April, 1862, married 29th September, 1887, Annabella
Matheson, daughter of Hugh M. Matheson, Esquire of Hampstead,
near London. Issue — (if) Adam Rolland Rainy, born 21st
August, 1889 ; (2c) Agnes Rainy, born 22nd July, 1892, at
Toorak, Melbourne. (56) Harry Craigie Rainy, born 6th April,
1867. (66) Annie Rainy, born 9th January, 1871. (76) George
Rainy, born 11th February, 1875. (Sa) Christina Rainy, born
1828. (4a) Margaret Rainy, born 1830, died in infancy. (5a)
George Rainy, M.D., of Glasgow, born 1832, married 27th May,
1862, Jane Balfour. He died 19th June, 1869. Issue— (16)
Harry Rainy, M.D., born 18th October, 1864. (26) John Rainy,
W.S., born 28th July, 1866.
THE DESCENDANTS OF FLORA DOUGLAS.
Flora Douglas (daughter of Hector Douglas, V. of
Mulderg) was married to William Aird, farmer, Wester Kincraig,
parish of Rosskeen (this marriage must have taken julace before
1700). They had issue —
I. George Aird, farmer of Culkinne, now called MilcraJg,
parish of Rosskeen. He was in Captain George Munro of
Culcairn's Company in the Black Watch (now the 42nd Regiment)
when Captain Munro was killed at Locharkaig in August, 1746.
George Aird died at Newmore at a very advanced age, having
married and had issue —
1. John Aird, Teaninich, who married and had issue. He
died in 1823, much past 80 years of age.
2. William Aird, farmer, Contlick, and then of Multavie in
the parish of Alness. He married a daughter of Patrick Mac-
