married Margaret, daughter of Sir John Shaw, Bt, of Greenock, and
had:—
(a) William (No. 386).

(386) William Hamilton of Craighlaw, Wigtown. His Will recorded 1746
and 1749 (Wigtown). He had a charter of the lands of Craighlaw 26th
July 1744. He married Isabella, daughter of M'Dowall of Logan, and,
dying s.p., was succeeded by his brother : —
(387) Charles Hamilton of Craighlaw, died 1783. Married Sarah, daughter
of Dr Robert MacDowall of Culgroatts, and had : —
(a) William (No. 388).
(b) John Hamilton.
(388) William Hamilton of Craighlaw, died 1798. He was served heir to his
father 18th March 1784, and to his brother, John, 12th May 1784. He
married Agnes, daughter, of Edward Cairns of Girstonwood. She died
1844, leaving : —
(389) William Charles Hamilton of Craighlaw, born 1799; died 1850. He
was served heir to his father 27th January 1802 and 18th October 1806.
In 1825 he married Anne, daughter of Rev. A. Stewart, D.D., of Kirk-
cowan, and had : —
(390) William Charles Stewart Hamilton of Craighlaw, born 1831 ; died
1876. He married, 1863, Margaret, daughter of Thomas Jones of Hinton
Charter House, and had : —
(391) William Malcolm Fleming Hamilton of Craighlaw, bom 25th Nov-
ember 1869.
Inchmachan.

(392) Thomas Hamilton of Inchmachan, third son of James Hamilton (No.
360). He married Agnes, daughter of Sir James Edmonstone of Dun-
treath, and had : —
(393) Robert Hamilton of Inchmachan, killed 1584. He was accused on 9th
February 1584 of taking part in the Raid of Ruthven {Criminal Trials).
He married Margaret Bellenden of Broughton, and had : —
(a) Robert (No. 394).
(b) James Hamilton of Kirktounholme.
(394) Robert Hamilton of Inchmachan. Married Grizel Cunningham of Craig-
ends. Her Will recorded 30th June 162 1 (St. Andrews). Their son : —
(395) Robert Hamilton of Inchmachan and Stravithie, purchased the lands
of Kinkell in Fife. He married, first, Agnes, daughter of John Aytoun of
Kinaldie, and had : —
(a) Robert (No. 396).
(b) John (No. 397).
