(d) Use of Reserves in an emergency. Should any boxer in
the selected teams be unable to box owing to some unforeseen cir-
cumstance, e.g. illness, accident, compassionate leave, the organizing
committee of that stage of the competition will allow one of the re-
serves, who has been weighed-in and passed the medical examination,
to be brought in as a substitute. Should the casualty be the first
string of either of the two weights with two strings, the second
string must be moved up to take his place and the reserve brought
in to take the znd string's place. If there is no reserve available for
the weight affected then this bout can only result in a walk-over
for the opposing team.
41. Duration of Bouts.
Each bout will be of three rounds — two rounds of two minutes'
duration and the final rounds of three minutes. There will be one
minute interval between rounds.
42. Marking of Points, etc.
(a) Two points will be awarded to the winner of each bout and
one point to the loser unless he be disqualified when he receives no
point.
(b) A Walk-Over counts as a win (z points) provided the com-
petitor actually enters the ring, having of course passed the medical
officer and been correctly weighed-in at the official time.
(c) A competitor who, in the opinion of the referee, gives in,
receives no point in that bout.
(d) If the referee terminates the bout to save a boxer from being
further punished or on account of injury, that boxer will not lose
the point awarded to the loser.
(e) The team scoring the greater number of points will be de-
clared the winner. In the event of a tie on points the team gaining
the greater number of bouts will be declared the winner. If equal
on bouts then the result of the first string welterweight bout will
decide the match. This bout therefore will always be boxed
last on the programme.
Should this deciding bout end in a double disqualification the
match will be decided on the result of the heavyweight bout ; if for
any reason there is no heavyweight bout or that bout ends in a double
disqualification then the light-heavyweight bout will decide, and so
on down the scale of weights until a decision is reached.
43. Prizes.
The winning team in the Army final will receive the King's
Shield and the runners-up the Noble Trophy which will be held for
the year. Appropriate mementoes will be awarded to each member
and senior trainer of the winning team and runners-up.
44. Officials Expenses.
When officiating at any military boxing tournament officials shall
be entitled to claim from the organisers of the tournament their
out of pockets expenses. Travelling expenses must be kept down
