12.
Disqualification and Retirement.
(a) (i) A competitor
disqualified in or retiring from
Riding, Swimming, Running,
shall receive no points for that event. He will however be credited
with the points he has already gained in the events prior to his
disqualification or retirement and the points he may gain in sub-
sequent events. He will still be entitled to a final position.
(ii)
Shooting.
A competitor disqualified or retiring from the
Shooting event shall receive for that event the points he has gained
up to his disqualification or retirement.
(iii)
Fencing.
A competitor disqualified or retiring from the
Fencing event shall receive for that event the points he has gained
up to his disqualification or retirement. The results of his bouts
against other competitors will however not count for or against
those competitors total.
(b)
A competitor disqualified in or retiring from one event will
not be entitled to receive a competition prize, but will be allowed
to receive the event prize in any other event.
(c) A competitor disqualified in or retiring from one event will,
however, be allowed to count for the team competition and may,
if his 'team is successful, receive his share of the team prize.
(d) A competitor disqualified in or retiring from two or more
events will be eliminated from the competition and will not be
considered in that or any subsequent event either as an individual
or member of a team.
(e)
Elimination under (c) above will not affect the place of the
competitor in events prior to that in which disqualification took
place
(f) In the team events, should a competitor be eliminated under
(e)
above, the team may not replace that competitor and will be
eliminated from the competition.
13.
Absence from an Event.
(a) Absence from any event
will entail the competitor's elimination, both as an individual or
member of a team.
(b)
Such elimination shall not affect the placings of a competitor
in events prior to that in which the absence took place.
(c) A competitor absenting himself from any event may render
himself ineligible to receive any prize, even though he qualified
before such absence occurred.
14.
Decision of Referee.
In cases of an appeal or to settle
any query arising from the competition, the decision of the Referee
shall be final.

Event 1. Riding.
15.
General.
These rules are frames to allow for the fact
that each horse may have to complete the course at least twice,
owing to the limited number available.

Dress
—Uniform : A crash helmet may be worn.

—No weight restrictions.
