When the draw is made, only i st strings and individuals
will be shown. There will be no actual draw made for the order
of start for team 2nd and 3rd strings. They will be starting in
the order as drawn for by zst _strings. (2nd strings first, followed
by 3rd strings).

9.
Numbers.
Each competitor will be allotted a serial number
which he will retain throughout the competition. Cloth numbers
as issued will be worn.
zo. Method of Scoring.
The method of determining the
final order of merit will be as follows :
(a)
Individual. (i) Competitors will be placed in order of
merit for each event according to the rules of the event.
(ii) The points gained in each event will be added together
and the aggregate will decide the final placing (i.e. the competitor
with the most points being the winner.
(b)
Ties, Individuals. (i) In the case of a tie on points the number
of event wins will decide.
(ii) If the result is still a tie the order will be decided on the
placing in each of the five contests in the following order of im-
portance—Running, Swimming, Shooting, Fencing and Riding.
(c) Teams. Aggregate of team members' points in each Event
will be added.

OTE
: FENCING. Results of a competitor's bouts against any
individual competitor who is not a member of a properly constituted
team, will not be taken into account when assessing the total
points scored by him and will not count towards his team's score.
(d)
Ties, Teams. (i) In the case of a tie in the team points,
the number of individual event wins achieved by the counting
members of the team will decide.
(ii) If there is still a tie, the order will be decided by the team
points in each of the five contests in the following order of im-
portance—Running, Swimming, Shooting, Fencing, Riding.

Ties in Each Event.
(a)
Ties in each event will be first
settled by the special rules for that event, if any, as in Riding and
Shooting.
(b)
If there is still a tie, or if there are no special rules, as in
Running, Swimming and Fencing, then the competitors will be
awarded equal placing.
(c) In the case of
(b)
the next competitor will receive a placing
as if there had been no tie, e.g. three competitors tie for 6th, 7th
and 8th places ; all three receive 6th placing and the next competitor
9th.
