| Description | King George V standing in front of General Plumer. Both men are in uniform and looking at a map. A small group of uniformed men standing next to the King are also looking at the map. Some of them peer over the King's shoulder to catch a glimpse. The King appears to be pointing to an area of the map and discussing it with the men next to him. The ground they are standing on is rough and uneven. It is believed John Warwick Brooke took this photograph. General Plumer commanded the Allied Forces at the Battle of Messines Ridge (June 1917).
