Description	The manuscript was produced in France and can be dated by its contents to between 1469 and 1476. It is decorated with initials in gold on red and blue grounds. On folio 5 is a miniature of the French king, crowned and wearing the collar of the Order, seated on a throne. There are no figures of other members of the Order. The arms of France, surrounded by the collar of the Order, appear above the canopy of the throne, and again, without the collar, in the border, which also contains birds, fruit and flowers on a gold ground.

Medieval and early modern manuscripts
Description	A selection of over 200 volumes of medieval and early modern manuscripts, dating from the 9th to the 17th century. Some of Scotland's most important early manuscripts are included in the many Scottish volumes. These are complemented by interesting and significant works of international origin, including volumes from France, England, the Low Countries, Italy and a number of other countries. Most of the manuscripts were collected by the Advocates Library, the forerunner of the National Library of Scotland.
