DescriptionA manuscript written in Scotland in the second half of the 16th century, containing a register of charters and leases covering the years 1553-1574. It contains a chartulary of the Priory of St Andrews, 1553-1566; a register of charters of the Priory of Pittenweem, under St Andrews Priory, from 1553-1567; and a register of 131 deeds, dated 1553-1574, of John Hamilton archbishop of St Andrews, Robert Bishop of Caithness (Commendator), James Earl of Moray, and John Wyntoun, Superintendent of Fife.

Medieval and early modern manuscripts
DescriptionA selection of over 200 volumes of medieval and early modern manuscripts, dating from the 9th to the 17th century. Some of Scotland's most important early manuscripts are included in the many Scottish volumes. These are complemented by interesting and significant works of international origin, including volumes from France, England, the Low Countries, Italy and a number of other countries. Most of the manuscripts were collected by the Advocates Library, the forerunner of the National Library of Scotland.
