'S gu'm bu lùthmhor a ceuman
'S ann a thùr mi 'n a dhèigh sin,
Gu'm bu te de luchd sràid' i,
Bha 'm Peirt no 'n Dùn-eudainn,
A' cleachdadh na Beurla
'S nach b' urradh dhi eisdeachd
Ri bhi leughadh na Gàilig.
