LAEGOWAED is a village, in the
parish of Kilconquhar and a quoad sacra
parish, formed from the parishes' of Ca-
meron, Carnbee, Kilconquhar and Largo ;
it is in the small debt court district of
Leven, and lies about 3 miles 1 north-west
from Colinsburgh and 4 north from Upper
Largo. In the neighbourhood are two coal
mines. Lathallan is the property of John
Q. Donald L.R.C.P. & L.R.C.S.Edin. The
population of the village in 1891 was 354,
and in 1901, 293 ; of the ecclesiastical
parish, 1,018 in 1891, and in 1901, 901.
