Alva Yearly Friendly Society. — This Society has beeu

Alva.— The Alva Funeral Society was established in June 1868,
and has a membership at present of 324. Capital about £212.
Benefits to members at death range from £1 10s, £3, up to £6.

John Thompson.
Tillicoultry Parish Friendly Society for Funerals-
Instituted IN 1824. — The purpose of this society is "to provide a
fund for contributing towards the funerals of members, their wives,
widows, and children." The present members number 430, repre-
senting fully 1,800 who have a claim upon the society. Preses,
William Campbell ; Treasurer, Alex. Martin ; Clerk, Peter
Sraeaton ; Collectors— for the town of Tillicoultry, David Fraser,
Hamilton St. ; and for Devonside and Ooalsnaughton, A. Hunter.
Tillicoultry Yearly Friendly Society for Sickness.—
Members' subscription is 7s per annum, payable during the first
seven months ; and aliment is given at the rate of 6s a week for
the first three months of illness, and 4s per week afterwards.

Treasurer, James Campbell. Average number of members, 60.
Kincardine Death Fund Society.— J. Chalmers, President ;
Andrew Crocket, Secretary ; John Miller, Treasurer. Mem-
bers, 380. Average yearly expenditure, £180.
SCOTCH GIRLS' FRIENDLY SOCIETY.
During the year 1878 several branches of this Society
were formeJ in the district, and have been very successful.
The suggestions for members are as follow : — Protection and
help on first leaving home. Strength to re-iist and overcome
temptation. Comfort and help in any trouble. Influence for
good among their fellow-workers, and a desire and readiness
to help others. We append a list of "Working" and "Honorary"
Associates, having charge of the branches in the district ;— . .
