Nbwtonshaw. — Instituted 11th October, 1845, and at present
numbers about 400 members. Meets on first Saturday of every
month. R. Henderson, President ; Wm. Stewart, Treasurer
David Evans, Secretary.
Carsebridqe Friendly Siok Society.— President, J. Kinnaird,
vice-president, A. A. T. Moyes ; secretary, D. Snaddon ; treasurer,
John Shand. All the regular employees at the distillery are
members of the society.
NeWtonbhaw New. — This society, though designated "new,"
dates as far back as the year 1800, and at present numbers 216
members. Andrew Bauchop, President ; James Hunter, Treasurer
and Secretary. Thomas Dawson and Wm. Ramage, auditors.
Newtonshaw and Devon Brotherly Death Society.— In-
â– tituted 1805, President, John Snaddon; treasurer, Mrs G.M. Blair;
secretary, David Snaddon. Membership 240.
Devon Colliery Friendly Society for Funerals.— President,
John Paterson ; Treasurer, William Paterson ; Secretary, Jonn
Snaddon. Membership, 214. This is an old-established Society.
Holton Square Yearly Sick Society. —President, Thos.
Dawson ; Treasurer, James Hunter ; Secretary, W. Ramage ;
Managers, Andw. Rankine and Andw. Snaddon; and a Committee
of six. Membership, 96.
Clackmannan.- The 1st Clackmannan Friendly Society for
Funerals— instituted in 1813— has a membership of 300. The
yiearly generail meeting of the members takes place on the first
Monday in June in the Public School-room, when a statement
of the receipts and expenditure and other general business are
bi'ought up. President, W. Jaffray ; Treasurer, Adam Cooper ;
Secretary, Wm, Summers, and a committee of 6.
Clackmannan Friendly Sick Society.— This society was
instituted twelve years ago, and has over 55 members. Its
chief object is to aid in defraying the expenses of its members
when in sickness. The office-bearers are— James Todd, president ;
Wm. Wylie, treasurer ; Wm. White, secretary.
Westfield. — An old-established society exists here to defray
the expenses of the funerals of its members, numbering upwards of
300. Robert Bonar, chairman ; Wm. Hunter, treasurer ; James
Fyfe, secretary ; Wm. Forsyth and Francis Forsyth, auditors.
Tullibody. — This society was instituted in 1820, and has up-
wards of 390 members, the majority of whom reside in Alloa.

Wm. Archibald. Collector for the Alloa district, Alexander Reid.
R. Jamieson, Collector for Tullibody district ; and John Gow, for
Cambus district.
