" Hospital Saturday, " or the Saturday on which a special
effort is made in the public works throughout the town and
district, in aid of Hospital Funds, is the last Saturday in
September. " Hospital Sunday," 1st Sunday in January.
FIFE, KINROSS, AND CLACKMANNAN CHARITABLE
SOCIETY OF GLASGOW.
Instituted December 15, 1837. Patron, Sir Joseph Noel
Paton, R.S.A., LL.D ; president, John Forbes ; late president,
Professor Robert Berry ; vice-presidents, Dr J. Crawford Renton,
Robert Cook, and P. W. Dixon ; treasurer, W. R. Crombie ;
secretary, J. C. Reid. Object — To afford pecuniary aid to
indigent natives, or widows, or children of natives, of these
counties resident in or near Glasgow. The subscription of
£1 Is per annum for four years, or £4 4$ in one sum,
constitutes membership to parties eligible by connection with
any of these counties ; and gentlemen willing to be enrolled ars
respectfully solicited to communicate with the treasurer or secre-
tary of the society, or any of the directors. Office, 217 "West

STIRLING, CLACKMANNAN, AND LINLITHGOW-
SHIRES SOCIETY FOR TEACHING THE BLIND,
Supported by voluntary subscription, has Alloa for its
centre of operations, and was formerly associated with Fife and
Kinross Society. The objects of the Society are to seek out
the Blind, visit them in their own homes, and teach them to
read in Moon's system ; to supply them with the Scriptures
and other books free of charge ; also to teach them to work
and to find employment for them in their own homes. Right

In connection with this society there is also a Ladies' Com-
mittee, of which the Right Hon. the Countess of Mar and Kellie,
the Right Hon. the Lady Balfour of Burleigh, Mrs Bruce of Kennet,
Mrs Johnstone of Alva, and Mrs Graham of Airth, are Patronesses.
KINCARDINE LADIES' CHARITABLE SOCIETY.
President, Lady W. G. Osborne Elphinslone ; Mrs Munro,
U.P. Manse, and Mrs D. Wright, vice- Presidents ; Miss Blair,
Secretary ; Miss E. Wright, Treasurer. The Society is for
relieving the wants of the deserving and indigent poor.
