ALLOA LITERARY ASSOCIATION.
Instituted 8th September, 1875.
Honorary president, Andw. A. T. Moyes ; president,
F. F. Haldane ; vice-president, David Buchan ; secretary,
John Beveridge, Erskine Place ; treasurer, John Cowie.
Meets in one of the rooms of the Burgh School every
Wednesday evening, at 8.15, during the winter monihs,
for the purpose of debating questions moral, social, and
political, and hearing essays, readings, recitations, &c., by the
different members of the Association. Membership, about i
40. There are a few honorary members.
TULLIBODY DEBATING SOCIETY.
This Society was formed on 22nd October, 1878. The
office-bearers for session 1884 are as follows : — M. M'Farlane,
president; John Paterson, vice-president; James Button,
secretary and treasurer. Meets in Public School.
TULLIBODY DISTRICT LIBRARY.
The Library, denominated " Tullibody District Library,"
instituted in 1862, by the Young Men's Christian Associatiun,
contains 400 volumes. The Library is placed in the school, and
the books are given out every Monday evening. The property
is vested in the hands of the following trustees : —
Messrs John Paterson, Robert Knox, Andw. Paterson,
Thomas Hunter, the Minister of the Free Church, and the
Teacher of the Public School for the time being. Besides the
addition of new works yearly, a box of books is obtained from
Glasgow at stated periods. Robert Kinmond, Chairman;
joint-secretaries and librarian, John Paterson and Walter
Alexander. There are seven members of Committee.

DOLLAR INSTITUTION LIBRARY.
By far the most valuable Library in the county is that inj
connection with Dollar Institution, the volumes numberingJ
