Several steam-tugs ply on the river for the convenience of vessels
arriving at Alloa or South Alloa, Clackmannan and Kennetpans.
A steamboat of considerable size and power (the Countess of Kellie)
has been placed on the Ferry at Alloa, and at present this steamer
lea'tea the North side every hour, and the South side twenty minutes
past every hour in summer, from 7 a.m., till 8 p.m., and in winter
from 7 A.M., till 6 p.m. Fare 3d. Lessees of the Ferry, The

The Carron Company's Lighters sail from the Glasgow wharf,
Alloa, for the steamers at Grangemouth, every Tuesday and Friday
evening, carrying goods for London. Five steamers sail betwixt
Grangemouth and London — three one week and two the following

Leased from Lord Balfour of Burleigh, Two pits on the
south side worked by Clackmannan Coal Company.
Blairingone Colliery — The Devon Valley Coal Coy.
