Memoranda regarding the various Trusts for the Endowment of an
Assistant Minister in the Parish of Alloa.
I. The Lady Charlotte Erskine Mortification.
Lady Charlotte Erskine by lier deed of settlement, of 27th
December, 1787, conveyed to Charles Hope, and other Trustees,
her estate for objects, among which were the founding of an
Endowment for an Assistant-Minister, and provision of Church
Accommodation of the Parish of Alloa.
The Erskine Mortification consists of two pai't^ :
(1) 246 Sittings in the Parish Church— the Trustees of which
Trust are the Minister and Kirk Session ; and the amount
drawn from which for year 1871-72, was £48 2s 5d.
A bond for £780 17s 5d sterling, which is invested in
heritable security, and a sum of £96 lying in Bank at
interest, — the Trustees of which are the Trustees of Lady
Charlotte Erskine ; and which yielded for the year 1871-72
£32 9s 8d,
