within Three Days thereafter, either deliver or Fend them by post to
the Registrar of the parish within which the marriage was solemnised.
In the event of a failure so to deliver or send these Forms, the husband'
and failing the husband the wife, is liable to a penalty often pounds.
Section 47. — The Registrar of a parish or district is bound, on receiv-
ing Forty-eight hours' notice, in writing, to attend parties at the solem-
nization of a marriage with his register book, and to make the proper
entry therein.
Sections 48 and 49 contain provisions relative to Marriages irregu-
larly contracted, the nature of which may be learned on application to
the Registrar of the parish or district.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS.
Section 45. — Where parties fail to attend and give any notice re-
quired by the Act, after receiving two intimations to that effect from the
Registrar, the Sheriff is directed, upon receiving evidence of such
failure, to issue his warrant for compelling attendance, the expense of
which will fall upon the party in default.
Section 52. — Printed Forms, setting forth the various particulars of
the information required to be given under the Statute, will be issued to
the different Registrars by the Registrar- General, and will be furnished.
Gratis, to ail persons entitled to receive them ; and the Registrars will
also afford every necessarj- instruction as to the proper mode of filling
up the Forms prescribed by the Act.
Sections 70 and 71. — Where several parties are required by the Act
to give any notice, it will be sufficient, to prevent liability for penalties
if one of them shall give the notice required; and such notice may com-
petently be sent by post, if within the time prescribed by the Act.

Particulars required to be Registered in the case of a Birth.
— 1, Name of child, if given. [The baptismal or other name, subse-
quently given, may be added to the entry within six months after the
registration of birth, on payment of a fee of one shilling.] 2, Sex
3, Date of Birth, (year, day of month, and hour) — 4, Place of Birth 5,
Father's name ; rank, profession, or occupation ; age, and birthplace
6, Mother's name, maiden name, age, and birthplace — 7, Date and place
of parents' Marriage, and number of children (boys and girls) whether
living or deceased — 8, It must also be stated whether the informant was
present or not at the Birth.
Particulars required to be Registered in the case of a Death.
— 1, Name, and rank, profession or occupation of deceased 2, Sex
3. Age— 4, Place of birth, and how long in the district in which the
Death occurred— 5, Parents' names, and rank, profession, or occupation
— 6, Name of spouse (if deceased was married) — 7, Names and ages of
children (living or dead) in the order of birth — 8, Date of Death (year
day of month, and hour— 9, Place of Death — 10, Cause of death how
long disease continued, and name of medical person in attendance on
deceased — 11, Burial place, and name of undertaker.
Particulars required to be Registered in the case of a Mar-
riage. — 1, Names, and present and usual residences of the parties—
2, Ages — 3, Rank or profession — 4, Condition, i.e., whether bachelor
spinster, widower, or widow — 5, Number of children (living and dead)'
by each former marriage— 6, Birthplace of the parties, with date and
place of the registration of their birth — 7, Names, and rank, profession
or occupation of their parents— 8, Date, place, and mode of celebration— •
9. In the case of irregular marriages, or of manages established by de-
cree of declarator, the date of extract sentence of conviction, or of decree
of declarator, and the Court in which either was pronounced, is required
to be Registered.
