JUSTICE OF PEACE, OR SMALL DEBT COURT,
For sums not exceeding 51, exclusive of costs.
Dundee District — comprehending the parishes of Dundee,
Mains and Strathmartine, Monikie, Monifieth, Murroes, Barry, Pan-
bride, Auchterhouse, Tealing, LifF and Ben vie — held vs^ithin the
Guilds Hall, every Monday fortnight, at eleven o'clock forenoon. The
acting Justices of the Peace are Judges, and any two form a quorum.

The parties are heard viva voce only, either by themselves oV any
one in the family. The Court cannot sustain actions for spiritous
liquors ; nor any debt for rent upon lease, or where the written titles
or deeds may come to be brought in question ; nor for gambling
debts. Six days after the sentence is pronounced, the decreet can be
pnt in force by poinding or imprisonment, when parties are present
in Court; but in the case of a decree in absence, a charge of six free
