TABLE OF DUES AND CUSTOMS
EXIGIBLE BY THE |
MAGISTRATES AND COUNCIL OF THE BURGH OF KILMARNOCK,
Upon the following Articles, when brought for Sale within said Burgh, and also of the
Weigh-House and Cellarage or Storage Dues, namely: —
I. — Meal and Malt Dues.
On each Boll of Town Malt, Id Stg.
On each Boll of Country Malt, 2d „
On each Sack of Meal or other Grain of Two Bolls of 280 lbs., 4d „
On each Bag of Barley, 3d „
On each Boll of Pease or Beans, 2d „
N.B. — The Custom is 4d. Sterling on each Load (of Two Bolls) of Meal, or other
Grain; 3d on each Bag of Barley; and 2d on each Boll of Pease or Beans; and
the same is Leviable whether said Articles are Sold for the use or consumption
of the Inhabitants of the Burgh, or for the purpose of being Re-sold therein,
either by Wholesale or Retail, and whether the same are Sold to Parties who use
or Re-sell the same within the Burgh, or to Parties who, after purchasing the
same, remove the Articles furth of the Burgh; and said Custom is equally
Leviable upon the said Articles, if brought within the Burgh for Sale, whether
immediately Sold or laid up in Warehouses or Storehouses for after disposal; and
the Council have power to authorise said Custom to be Levied at the time of the
said Articles being brought within the Burgh, and to Collect the same at such
Ports and Places as they may fix and appoint.
II. — Slaughter-House Dues.
On each Head of Slaughtered Black Cattle,
On each Slaughtered Calf, Sheep, or Goat,
On each Slaughtered Lamb or Kid,
On each Slaughtered Swine, above 3 months old,
On each Slaughtered Pig, under do.,
III. — BuTTEK, Eggs, Potatoes, &c., Dues.
On each Basket of Butter, or Eggs, or Fowls, ...
On each Boll of Potatoes,
On each Stone of Cheese and Salt Butter, of 24 lbs.,
On all Fish, except Herrings, brought to the Market-place or Shops, if
the quantity amounts to 112 lbs, and upwards,
If less than 112 lbs,
On each Cart of Vegetables,
On each Cart of Fruit,
On each Two-Wheeled Barrow of Fruit or Vegetables,
On each Stand of Fruit or Vegetables,
On each Boll of Salt,
On each Barrel of Herrings or Beef,
On each Web of Plaiding,
On each Hogshead of Lintseed by Freemen or Burgesses,.,.
On each Hogshead of Lintseed by Non-Freemen, ... ...
On every Flesher's Stand, by Strangers and Non-Freemen,
