The above was founded in January, 1893, to
provide trained nurses to attend the sick poor in
their own homes, free of charge. Nurses for private
cases can also be obtained from this institution, and
there is accommodation iu the home for a limited
number of inpatients.

BRIDGETON MEDICAL MISSION.
This public charity was begun in 1896 in this
district, which, from its large working- class popula-
tion and distance from the infirmary and other free
medical dispensaries of the city, seemed to require a
special agency for the relief of the deserving sick
poor. Dispensary held in Mission Hall, William St.,
on Tuesdays, Thm-sdays, and Saturdays, at 2 p.m.

THE MACDONALD SOCIETY.
The objects of the Society are : the cultivation of
social intercourse among the members ; the rendering
of assistance to aged, infirm, or necessitous members,
their widows and children, and other purposes.

FRIENDLESS GIRLS' TEMPORARY HOME.

The object of this Home is to give shelter to any
friendless girla when out of work, and of the Free
Registry Office to find suitable employment for them,
and also for charwomen. This Home is preventive
in its aim, and is intended for the help of the very
poor and destitute.

Under the care of the Sisters of Mercy.
In this Home girls of good character are pro-
tected and trained for domestic service. Its support
depends mainly on laundry work, which is respect-
fully solicited. Donations in money or clothing will
be gratefully received.
