The National Thrift Society has for its object the
ancourageinent and promotion of thrift in various
ways, and especially by holding meetings and thrift
chats, publishing and circulating thrift literature,
stablishing district penny banks in connection with
savings banks, and co-operating with other institu-
tions for promoting the welfare and social improve-
ment of the industrial classes and young people
throughout the country. The society is entirely
unsectarian and unpolitical, and its operations are
carried on amongst all classes of the community,
riirift publications for distribution will be forwarded
10 donors and subscribers when desired, or to any
.ustitution mentioned by them for this purpose.
Clergymen and others who may be desirous of
javing thrift mtetings, or a disiributiou of tlirifc
literature, at schools, institutes, mission halls, &c. ;
and employers of labour who may be willing to have
'thrift chats" at factories, ironworks, shipbuilding
yards, &c., are requested to communicate with the
iecretary.
The society is maintained by voluntary contribu-
tions from emplojers and others, and any who may
be disposed to accord it their support aie invited to
end their names to the secretary at either the
London or Glasgow offices. Lectures and meetings
3n ihrilt are given free of charge, and tbe publica-
;ions issued by the society are for gratuitous dis-

The Objects of the club are : the study and pro-
motion of the subject of photography in all its
branches by means of lectures, demonstrations, ex-
cursions, musical evenings, and social meetings. The
annual subscription is 7s. 6d., and entitles members to
use the dark room and apparatus, the library, and to
bring a friend to the excursions and social meetings
of the club. Open lantern night every Tuesday
during the winter season.
