CHARITABLE AND FRIENDLY INSTITUTIONS.
CLAN MACKAY SOCIETY.
The objects of the society shall be the fostering
and preserving of clan sentiment; the cultivation of
social intercourse among the members ; the rendering
of assistance to deserving clansmen ; the encourage-
ment of education ; and the collecting and preserving
of records and traditions bearing on the history of
the clan. The society shall be called "The Clan
Mackay Society;" shall be non-polilical and non-
sectarian ; and shall consist of (1) persons bearing the
surname Mackay, by birth or marriage ; (2) persons
bearing any of the names of the various clan septs,
or related to the clan by descent, shall be admitted
as " Associates," but shall not be eligible to hold
office, or entitled to vote at any of the meetings, or
derive any benefit from the funds of the society.
The Sept names are as follows : — Mackie, Bain (in its
various forms). Poison, Macpbail, Mackee or Mackey,
Macghie, Neilson, MacCrie, MacCay, &c. The mem-
bership is of three classes, viz., life members, who shall
make one payment of £3 3s.; extraordinary members,
10s. 6d. ; and ordinary members, 2s. 6d. annually.
The ordinary meetings are held alternately in Glasgow,
in the Religious Institution Rooms, 200 Buchanan
Street, and Edinburgh, at 5 St. Andrew Square, on
the third Thursday of each month, from October to
April inclusive.

The objects of the society are— (1) The cultivation
of social intercourse ; (2) the encouragement of edu-
cation. Highland industries, and the collection and
preservation of records and traditions bearing on the
history of the clan ; (o) reviving, preserving, and
promoting the interests of the clan ; (4) the relief of
and rendering assistance, counsel, and moral influence
to deserving clansmen. The society is non-political
and unsectarian.
CLAN FERGUSSON.

The objects of this society are the reviving, con-
serving, and promoting the interests, sentiment, and
associations of the clan, assisting of decayed clans-
men, &c.

Glasgow and West of Scotland Branch.
Associated for the encouragement of education, the
collecting and preserving of records and traditions
relating to the history of the clan, the rendering of
assistance to deserving clansmen, and the cultivation
of social intercourse among the members, &c.

LAMONT CLAN SOCIETY.
The objects of the Society shall be the reviving,
conserving, and promoting the interests, sentiment,
and associations of the clan ; cultivation of social
intercourse among the members ; the collecting and
preserving of records and traditions relating to the
clan, and the publication of the same amongst its
members; the encouragement of education; the
rendering of assistance to deserving clansmen, and
any other objects which the Society may from time
to time determine. The membership is of three
classes — 'viz., Life Members, who shall make one
payment of £b 5s.; ordinary members, 5s. annually;
and retainers, Is. annually. The entry-money pay-
able by ordinary members is 2s. 6d. Ofiice-bearers
