the Mails are forwarded with those for the West Indies,
[British.] Letters and Newspapers received until the
same hours. Letters must be paid Is. 5d. not exceed-
ing \ cz. and so on.

NEWSPAPERS FROM ABEOAD.
Those for Persons who have removed may be re-dir-
ected to them at anj place in the United Kingdom,
without extra Postage, provided thej have not been op-
ened at the place to which they were originallj address-
ed ; but a Newspaper that has been opened is charged at
the same rate as if it were a letter, from the place of re-
direction to the place at which it may ultimately be de«
jiivered.
LETTERS NOT TO BE SEALED WITH WAX
WHEN SENT TO WARM CLIMATES.
The practice of Sealing Letters passing to and from
the East and West Indies, and other warm Climates,
with Wax is attended with much inconvenience, and
frequently with serious injury to the Letters, in conse-
quence of the melting of the Wax, and adhesion of the
Letters to each other.
In the case of Mails received from India, consider-
able delay is occasioned ; and notwithstanding the great-
est care is taken in separating the Letters, which, owing
to the cause already mentioned, adhere closely together,
many are much damaged and torn ; the public are there-
fore recommended in all cases to use Wafers in prefer-
ence to Wax in securing the Letters sent to India, or
