Liquids, Glass, Explosives and Colouring Powders, are absolutely prohibited.
A Packet of Patterns or Samples sent to any place in the Postal Union
{except Belgium, France, Greece, Italy, Japan, Luxemburg, Portugal, Switzer-
land via France, Argentine Republic, and United States)must not exceed 8 inches
in length, 4 in width, or 2 in depth. The limit to Belgium, France, Greece, Italy,
Japan, Luxemburg, Portugal, Switzerland via France, Argentine Republic, or
United States, is 1 foot in length, 8 inches in width, and 4 inches in depth.
The size of a packet for a non-Union country or colony is limited to 2 feet in
length and 1 foot in width or depth.
Foreign and Colonial Post Cards.
Post Cards for abroad with impressed stamj)s of Id, IJd, and 2d each are sold
at those rates, and are transmissible to all the countries of the Postal Union
without extra charge. Reply Post Cards, prices 2d, 3d, and 4d each.
Single Cards (but single cards only) are transmissible to Australia, Fiji,
New Zealand, the Cape of Good Ho'pe, and Natal.
Inland Post Cards are also transmissible if the additional i^ostage required
is supplied by i^ostage stamps being affixed.
The regulations relating to Inland Post Cards aj^ply also to Cards jiosted for
places abroad, except that the latter, when these regulations are infringed, are
aot forwarded.

Dimensions. — The dimensions allowed are : —
For Austria, Azores [via Lisbon), Bosnia, Bulgaria, Cameroons, Denmark,
Finland, Germany, Madeira (v?a Lisbon), Morocco (except Tangier), Norway,
Portugal (direct), Roumania, Samoa, Servia — 2 feet in any dhection.
Parcels which slightly exceed 2 ft. in length are accepted for transmission
to Belgium, France, Holland, Luxemburg, Sweden, and Switzerland, pro-
vided that their other dimensions are inconsiderable.
yor Adrianople, Algeria, Annam, Argentine Republic, Azores [via France),
Cayenne, Chili, Cochin China, Congo Free State, Corsica, Gaboon,
Greece, Guadaloupe, Italy, Janina, Java, Jerusalem, Madagascar, Madeira
(via France), Malta [via France), Martinique, Mayotte, New Caledonia,
Obock (East Africa), Portugal [via France), Reunion, Senegal, Spain,
Tahiti, Tonquin, Tunis, Turkey, LTruguay — greatest length, 2 feet ;
greatest length and girth combined, 4 feet.
For Canada — Greatest length, 2 ft. ; greatest depth or width, 1 ft.
For Mexico — Greatest length, 2 ft. ; greatest girth, 4 ft.
For places named in the Table of Parcel Postage — other than those
detailed above — same as for Inland Parcel Post.
Weight. — The maximum weight for parcels for Adrianople, Algeria, Annam,
Argentine Republic, Austria, Azores [via Lisbon), Bechuanaland, Bosnia,
Bulgaria, Cameroons, Cayenne, Chili, Cochin China, Constantinople [via
France), Corsica, Denmark, Egypt [via Brindisi), Finland, France, Gaboon,
Germany, Greece, Guadaloupe, Italy, Janina, Jeri^salem, Madagascar,
Madeira [via Lisbon), Malta [via France), Martinique, INIauritius, Mayotte,
Morocco, Natal, New Caledonia, Obock (East Africa), Orange Free State,
Portugal (by sea direct). Reunion, Roumania, Samoa, Senegal, Servia,
Seychelles, Smyrna [via France), Sweden, Switzerland, Tahiti, Tonquin,
Transvaal, Tunis, Turkey, Uruguay, is 7 lbs. ; for Spain, 65 lbs. ; for Azores,
Madeira, and Portugal (all via France), 65 lbs. ; for Canada, 5 lbs. ; and for
all other places and routes named in the Table of Parcel Postage, 11 lbs.
The postage must in all cases be 2jaid in advance, by means of postage stamj)s,
affixed by the sender. Each parcel must be plainly directed, and should
bear the words "Parcel Post" in the upper left-hand corner, and the name
Bnd address of the sender. The date of jiosting should also be added. A
