upwards, previously to those periods respectively, and for
the amounts which shall be so apportioned, equivalent re-
versionary Sums will be added to their Policies.
If any Person should wish to discontinue the payment
of his annual Premium, the Directors have power either to
purchase his Policy for a sum of money payable immedi-
ately,' or, in consideration of its surrender, to grant a new
Policy without any further annual Premium, for a sum to
he agreed upon, payable at the decease of the Life assured.
And the person to whom such new Policy is granted will
he entitled, in respect thereof, to participate in the periodi-
cal divisions of the profits.
Persons who shall have been insured for the space of two
years, in L. 1000, or upwards, for the whole continuance of
Life, have the power of electing, either from among the
Proprietors or from among themselves, two of the four
Auditors of the Society.
Parties may arrange to pay their premiums either in a
single payment, by annual payment during the whofe con-
tinuance of the Assurance, or by annual payments daring a
limited number of years only.
No entrance-meney is required ; nor any extra Premium
on persons in the Army or Navy, unless in actual service.
Assurances may be effected upon the Lives of Persons
residing at a distance from London, by their appearing
before a Solicitor in the Country ; and the payment of a
fine for non-appearance at this Office is then dispensed with.
The Assured are allowed to pass by sea from one part of
the United Kingdom to another, to and from the Islands of
Guernsey, Jersey, Alderney, Sark, and Man ; and also, in
time of peace, in king's ships, and packet or passage vessels,
to and from British and Foreign ports in the English Chan-
nel, between the Texel and Brest, both inclusive, without
any special leave or licence from the Directors.
The sums due on the Policies will be paid within three
months after proof of the requisite facts.
The Assured are requested to take notice, that no re-
newal Premiums are ever received from themselves or their
Agents, without printed receipts, signed by two Directors
and the Actuary, being issued from this Office.
Attendance is given daily, from Nine o'clock in the morn-
ing, till Four in the afternoon, at the Office, where the
Terms of Assurance may be had. Proposals for effecting
Assurances received, and every information respecting the
Society obtained.
