Insurance Companies.

L. 1000, which had heen in force for the Seven Years
ending at Christmas 1823. Proportionate additions have
been made to Policies for other amounts, or which have
been in force for shorter periods: —
FIRE DEPARTMENT.
The Assurance of every species of property from loss or:
damage by fire, is undertaken by the Company on highly
favourable terms; and Policies for L.oOO and upwards will
be entitled to participate in the surplus premiums every
tifth year ; the amount thereof in several late years lias
been from Ticentij to Twentii-five per cent.
A payment for rent is made by the Company in case of
Loss on Buildings, icithout amj extra Premium.
Proposals, fully explanatory of the principles and rates I
of the Company, may be had at the Company's Office, \
No. 29, Heriot Row, Edinburgh, where all letters on the
subject of Assurances may be addressed to the Committee,
or to their Chairman, Mr Campbell,

rate premiums ; and the terms on which Annuities, and
Endowments to Children, are granted, and Annuities pur-
