This Company is so constituted as to meet the views of all classes of Insurers. By one Table of Premiums,
the precise sum required is secured on the death of the party at the lowest possible rate of Premium consist-
ent with security; and, by another Table, the Insured possess the valuable advantage of participating in the
Profits, or Savings, to the extent of two-thirds. Those insuring on this plan are exempt from all the liabili-
ties to which they are exposed in Mutual Assurance Societies ; while, at the same time, the benefit attaching
to such societies is amply secured to them. The particulars and principles of this Institution are fully detail-
ed in the Prospectus of the Company, copies of which may be had at the head office, and of the Company's
Agents in the principal towns in Scotland,

This Incorporation divides, Septennially, the whole Profits amongst the Insured, who are guaranteed from
responsibility. A return of nine per cent has just been made on all Premiums received from Candlemas
1825 to Candlemas 1832; and this, notwithstanding a more than average amount of Losses during that
period.
The business of the Society has been gradually and steadily increasing since the adoption of the present
system of dividing the Profits ; and as the Losses during the current Seven Years, will not, in all probability,
be above an average, — ^the Assured have reason to anticipate a still more favourable result at the next in-
vestigation.
All Town Risks of the First Class, — Duelling Houses situated in the Country, — and Farm Steadings,
are taken as Common Insurances, at Is. 6d. per cent. At the same rate of Premium, the Stock and
Crop on any part of a Farm may be insured in One Sum, without the Average Clause ; and if preferred,
the Sum Insured may be allowed to decrease Monthly or Quarterly, whereby a considerable Saving is effected
by the Insurer.
