and subsequently in the Peninsula under the Duke of Wellington, including the battle of Fuentes
d’Onor, siege of Ciudad Rodrigo, and battles of the Nivelle and Nive.
104 Sir Maxwell Wallace served the campaign of 1815, and was present in the action at Quatre
Bras, the retreat on the 17th June, and battle of Waterloo. On the 16th June 1815, he was appointed,
by Major-General Baron Dornberg, Orderly Officer, to assist his Brigade-Major Captain Robais; the
General’s Aide-de-Camp Captain Krauchenburg being taken prisoner the following day, he took
Robais as Aide-de-Camp, and named Captain Wallace Acting Brigade-Major; and, Robais being
killed on the 18th, the Duke of Wellington confirmed Captain Wallace on the Major-General’s recom¬
mendation.
105 Colonel Edward Wildman served in the Peninsula with the 4th Dragoons from April 1809 to
Sept. 1811, and again from July 1812 to the end of that war in 1814, including the battles of Talavera
and Busaco, action at Redinha, battle of Albuhera, retreat from Salamanca to Portugal, battles of
Vittoria, Pyrenees, Tarbes, and Toulouse. Served also the campaign of 1815, and had three horses
killed under him at Waterloo. Received two severe sabre wounds in the head and arm, and made
prisoner at the battle of Albuhera.
106 Colonel the Honourable John Finch served the campaigns of 1813 and 14 with the 15th
Hussars, and was engaged at the battles of Vittoria (sabre wound), Orthes, and Toulouse. He was
also present although not personally engaged at the battles of the Pyrenees and the Nive. Accom¬
panied Lord Combermere to India as his Military Secretary, and was present at the siege and capture
of Bhurtpore.
107 Colonel Barlow served in India under Lord Lake, during the campaigns of 1803, 4, and 5, and
was present at the siege of Deig, battle of Futtyghur, siege of Bhurtpore, and battle of Afzalghur.
Served also at the captures of Bourbon and the Isle of France, in 1810.
108 Colonel Moore served in the Peninsula, France, and Flanders, and was severely wounded and
taken prisoner at the repulse of the sortie from Bayonne.
108* Sir Henry Floyd served the campaigns of 1813 and 14 in the Peninsula, as Aide-de-Camp to
Sir Wm. Henry Clinton, including the battles of Biar and Castalla, siege and blockade of Tarragona,
in conveying orders to Ordal, and subsequent blockade of Barcelona. Served the campaign of 1815
with the lOth Dussars, and was present at the battle of Waterloo.
109 Sir Augustus d’Este served at New Orleans on the staff of Sir John Lambert, and behaved
with great gallantry.
110 Colonel Cochrane landed with the first army in Portugal on the 3rd Aug. 1808, and served in
the Peninsula during the campaigns of 1808, 9, 10, and 11, and part of 1812, including the battles of
Roleia, Vimiera, Talavera, and Busaco, action of Redinha, siege of Olivenpa, first siege of Badajoz,
siege of Ciudad Rodrigo. Served nearly two years in Canada during the American war, as
Aide-de-Camp to the Governor-General and Commander of the forces, Lieut.-General Sir George
Prevost.
111 Colonel Hector Maclaine served in the Peninsula, and has received a medal for the battle of
Nivelle.
Ill* Colonel Wetherall was in action with a squadron of French frigates in the Mosambique
channel in June 1810 ; in the attack of a squadron of French frigates in PortS.E. of the Isle of France
in July 1810. At the attack and conquest of Java in 1811, as Aide-de-Camp to Major-General
Wetherall.
112 Colonel Carter was present in many of the actions of the Mahratta war. Commanded the
Grenadiers of the 84th at the taking of the Isle of France, in 1810.
113 Colonel the Honourable George Anson served the campaign of 1815 with the Scots Fusilier
Guards, and was present at the battle of Waterloo.
114 Colonel M‘Gregor was actively employed in Sicily and Italy in 1806, including the skirmishes
at St. Euphemie, battle of Maida, attack on Scylla Castle, and capture of Catrone. Campaign of 1807
in Egypt, including the attacks in the Desert, and siege of Rosetta. Campaign in Holland, in 1809,
including the attacks and captures of Ter Vere and Flushing. Campaigns in the Peninsula during
part of 1813 and 14. Capture of Corsica in May 1814. Wounded through the right shoulder by a
musket-shot at the battle of Maida.
115 Colonel Nickle served with the 88th in the action of the 2nd July 1807, before Buenos Ayres;
volunteered and led the Forlorn Hope on the 5th July, and was very severely wounded, and his party
all either killed or wounded. Served, with the exception of about five months, during the whole of the
Peninsular war from 1809 to the embarkation of his regt. the 88th, in 1814, at Bordeaux for North
America, including the passage of the Douro, battles of Talavera and Busaco, second siege of Badajoz,
the retreat and advance of the army to and from the Lines at Torres Yedras, battle of Vittoria, sortie
from Pampeluna, battles of the Pyrenees, Nivelle, Nive, and Orthes, actions of Vic Bigorre and
Tarbes, and battle of Toulouse (very severely wounded), independent of a great many skirmishes of
advanced and out-posts. Served afterwards in the American war in the affair of Plattsburg, where he
led the advance across the Sarinac River, and was wounded, llpon the breaking out of the Insurrec¬
tion in British North America in the winter of 1837, Colonel Nickle volunteered his services there.

116 Colonel Mackintosh served in the Peninsula with the 3d Dragoon Guards from August 1812 to
the end of that war in 1814, including the retreat from Madrid to Salamanca and action at Alba de
Tormes, retreat to Ciudad Rodrigo and action at San Munos, passage of the Tormes above Salamanca
and attack on the French rear-guard under General Villate, action at Hormasa before Burgos, battle of
