6 Captains Elmhirst, Shelton and
Listertwounded at Istaliff),and Lt.
Burden served the campaign in Aff-
ghanistan under General Pollock,
and have received the Medal for the
:-capture of Cabool.
10 Lieutenants Gaynor and Dent,
and Paymaster Bluntish, served the
campaign of 1842 in Affghanistan
(Medal) ; and that on the Sutlej in
1845-fi (Medal), including the battles
of Moodkee, Ferozeshah, & Sobraon.
18 Qr.-Master Scott served in
Holland, in 1799, and was present in
the action of the 19th Sept. Served also in the Penin¬
sula from Aug. 1808 to Aug 1809. and again from Jan.
1813 to June 1814, including the battle of Vimiera,
capture of Oporto, battle oi Vittoria, siege of San
Sebastian, battles of the Nive on the 9th, 10th, and
11th Dec. 1813. He has received the War Medal with
five clasps.
11 Lieut. Bluntish served the campaign of 1842 in
A Afghanistan (Medal); and that on the Sutlej (Medal),
including the battles of Moodkee and Sobraon.
12 Lieut. Hanham served the campaign on the
Sutlej in 1846-46 (Medal), and was present at the bat¬
tles of Moodkee, (wounded) Ferozesbah, and Sobraon.

1 Sir James Hope served with the expedition to Hanover in 1805-6; to Zealand in 1807, including the siege of Copen¬
hagen; to Sweden in 1808; in Portugal and Spain in 1808-9, including the action at Lugo and battle oi Corunna. With
the expedition to W’alcheren in 1809; the Peninsular campaigns from 1810 to the end of that war in 1814, including the
battle of Barrosa, siege of Ciudad Rodrigo, covering the siege of Badajoz, affairs in front of Salamanca and at Osina, battle
of Vittoria, siege of San Sebastian, passages of the Bidassoa, Gave d’Oleron, and Gave de Pau ; battles of the Nivelle, Nive,
Orthes, & Toulouse. Sir Jas. has received the gold cross & a clasp for the battles of Vittoria, Nivelle, Nive, Orthes, and
Toulouse; and the Silver War Medal with live clasps for Corunna, Busaco, Ciudad Rodrigo, Badajoz, and Salamanca.
2 Lieut.-Colonel Davis served with the 9th in the Peninsula from Sept. 1808 until taken prisoner, on the retreat of Sir John
Moore, 9 Jan. 1809, at Lugo, where he was left dangerously ill, and he was retained a prisoner of war in France until 1814. In
1842 he served the campaign in Affghanistan (Medal), and was present at the forcing of the Khyber, the Jugdulluck, the Tezeen,
and the Huft Kotil Passes, and the assault and capture of Istalifif. He served also in the campaign on the Sutlej, and com¬
manded the 9th at the battle of Sobraon (Medal).
4 Major Borton served the campaign in Affghanistan in 1842 (Medal) under General Pollock; and that on the Sutlej in
1846-6 (Medal) including the battles of Moodkee, and succeeded to the command of the regt. at Ferozeshah (severely wounded).
5 Capt. Bethune served the campaign in A Afghanistan in 1842 (Medal),—as adjutant of the 9th at the forcin* of the Khyber
Pass, and as aide-de-camp to Sir John M'Caskill at the action of Mamookail, forcins the Tezeen Pass, re-capture of Cabool,
storm, capture, and destruction of IstaliAT. He served also the campaign on the Sutlej in 1846-6 (Medal), as aide de-camp to
Sir John M'Caskill at the battle ol Moodkee, where the Major-General was killed,—as aide-de-camp to Brigadier Wallace
(who w as killed), at Ferozeshah (charger shot),—and in command of the light company of the 9th at Sobraon.
8 Capt. Hawes, Lt. Morton and Dr. Anderson, served the campaign on the Sutlej in 1845-6 (Medal), including the battles
of Moodkee, Ferozeshah & Sobraon.
9 Captain Fenton served with the 53rd in the campaign on the Sutlej in 1846 (Medal), including the battles of Buddiwal,
Aliwal, and Sobraon.
13 Capt. Taylor served the campaign of 1842 in Afghanistan (Medal) ; and that on the Sutlej (Medal), including the battles
of Moodkee and Ferozeshah (severely wounded).
15 Lt. Daunt served the campaign in Affghanistan (Medal) ; and that on the Sutlej (Medal), including the battles of Moodkee,
Ferozeshah, and Sobraon (wounded).
16 Captain Leslie served with the 80th the campaign on the Sutlej in 1845-6 including the battles of Moodkee, Feroze-
shah, and Sobraon, for which he has received a Medal and two Clasps. In Nov. 1844 he was wrecked on one of the Andaman
Islands in the transport Briton, with three companies of the 80th Foot, and carried the despatches from the island to Muul-
mein, during which time he was 22 days at sea in an open boa*
