served in Holland in 1791 and 95, and was present in Nimeguen during the siege, and at the
the exped.tion to Egypt in 1801. and was present in the battles of the 13th and 21st March; also at
the battle of Rhamameh, and at the surrender of Grand Cairo and of Alexandria. Sir Gordon saw much service in the
mencan war, and commanded in the action near the Falls of Niagara, where he was severely wounded.
