of Alma, Balaklava (horse shot under him in the Light Cavalry Charge), Inkerman, and Tchernaya, and siege of
Sebastopol; and was Aide de Camp to Lord George Paget during the period he commanded the Light Cavalry
Brigade in the Crimea, including the expedition to Eupatoria (Brevet of Major, Medal with four Clasps, Sardinian

expedition to Kertch, siege and fall of Sebast jpol iMedal with Cla.^p, and Turkish Medal). Served in Rajpootana in
1858-59 and was present at the capture of Kotah and action of Koorshana(mentioued in despatches. Medal with Clasp).
^™ Lt.Colonel Radcliife served with the 88th Regiment in the Eastern campaign of 1854, including the battle of
Alma and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with two Clasps, and Turkish Medal). Served also in suppression of the
Indian mutiny in 1857-58, including the affair at Bhoguapore, siege of Lucknow in March, siege of Calpee, and
affair at Solimpore (brevet of Major, Medal with Claspj.
-'1 Lt.Colonel Ready landed in the Crimea on 13th Feb. 1855, and commanded the 71st Highlanders at the siege of
Sebastopol and expedition to Kertch : he held the rank of Brigadier in the Kertch district during its occupation by
the AlUes (Medal with Clasp, Knight of the Legion of Honor, and Turkish Medal).

India and pursuit of the rebel forces under Tantia Topee and Rao Sahib in 1858-59, and action of Oodeypore as
Staff Orticer to Brigadier Parke (mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasij).
^'6 Lt.Colonel C. D. Rich served with the 9th Lancers at the relief of Lucknow by Lord Clyde in Nov. 1857,and with the
2nd Battalion Military Train as Field Adjutant, while that Corps acted as Cavalry in the Force that remained in posi¬
tion in Alumbagh iroin the relief until the siege and capture of the City in March 1858, and was mentioned in despatch
for services in action at Alumbagh (horse shot); served with the gthLancers throughout the campaign in Oude and
Rohilcund, including actions at Rhodamow and Allygunge, capture of B;ireilly, action of Shahjehanpore and pur¬
suit to Mahomdee; commanded a siiuadron at the passage of the Gogra and affairs at Mutchleegaon and Kumdakoti
(Brevet of Major, Medal with two Clasps).
2'' Lt.Colonel R. J. B. Robertson served with the ist Battalion 60th Rifles during the second siege operations at
Mooltan, incluciing the siege and storm of the town and cauture of the citadel; was afterwards present at the
battle of Goojerat, the pursuit of the Sikh armj-, and the expulsion of the Affgnans beyond the Khyber Pass (Medal
with two Claspsj. Served during the operations in the Euzofzye C^ .untry, and capture of the insurgent villages on
the nth and i4tli Dec. 1849. Also in the expedition against the Affree'dies in the Kohat Pass in February 1850
(Medal with Clasp). Served on the Rod River expedition of 1870.
^''' Lt.Colonel J.Robinson servcdwith the 44th Regiment throughout the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the
battles of Alma and Inkerman, siege and fall of Sebastopol, attack and occupatifju of the Cemetery on the i8th June,
and was Aide de Camp to Brigadier General Spencer in the Trenches at the fall of Sebastopol, 8th September, and
in the expedition to and cajiture of the forts of Kinbourn (mentioned in despatches. Medal with three Clasps, Brevet
of Major, Knight of the Legion of Honor, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal). Served also the campaign
of i860 in the north of China, including the action of Sinho, assault and capture of the Inner Taku Fort (Medal
with Cla.sp),

^so Lt.Colonel Romer was employed as Aide de Camp to the French Admiral during the operations before and
capture of Canton in 1857 (mentioned in despatches. Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp). Commanded the Detach¬
ment of the 59th Regt. at tiie storming and capture of Namtow on nth Aug. 1858.
^"*^ Lt.Colonel Holden-Rose served with the 3rd Light Dragoons throughout the campaign of 1842 in Affghanistan,
including the forcing of the Khyber Pass.stonmng the Heights of Jugdulluck, action at Tezcen, and Huftkotul, relief
of Jellalabad, and recapture of"Cabool (Medal). At the battle of Putiniar, near Gwalior, commande<l the left Squad¬
ron of the 9th Lancers (Bronze Star). He served in the Sutlcj campaign in 1846, including the battle of Sobraou
(Medal). Also in the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49, inchiding'the 'lassagc of the Chenab at Ramnuggur (where he
commanded the 9th Lancer's), and battles of Chilliauwallah and Goojerat (Medal with two Clasps).
^*^ Lt.Colonel R. H. Ross served as Adjutant of the 35th Regiment during the campaign in the Shahabad district,
Bengal, in 1858 (Medal).
2"* Lt.Colouel W. Boss-King served with the 74th Highlanders throughout the KafBr war of 1851-53 (Medal), and
was present in the eagagements of the Amatolas, Kroomie, Waterkloof, &c.—thrice honourably mentioned in de¬
spatches, also in Geueral Orders 20th Sept. 1852.
"I' Lt.Colonel W. J. Rous served with the 90th Light Infantiy in the Crimea from Dec. 1834, including the siege
and fall of Sebastopol, a,nd attacks of the Redan on the i8th June and 8th September—wounded; also severely
wounded in the Trenches on the 26th August (Medal with one Clasp, and Turkish Medal).

at the bombardment and capture of Kinbourn (Crimean and Turkish Medals). Served with the Column under
Colonel Warre on the Taptee river in co-operation *ith the Central India Field Force in 1858. Also served through
the New Zealand war of 1863-66, including the action of Katikara, capture of the Maori positions of Ahii Aim,
Kitake, and Te Porn, operations in the Warea district, and several minor afRiirs. Ou the Staff from 20th Jan. 1865
to i6th Aug. 1866; mentioned in despatches by Sir Duncan Cameron as "deserving of the highest praise," more¬
over repeatedly mentioned in despatches, also thanked in district orders (Brevet of Major, and Medal).
