(Medal with Clasp).

at Nazean 27th and 29th April, at the storming of Kahding ist May, of Tiying-poo 12th May, and at the storming
and recapture of Kahding on the 4th October 1862.
'^^ Colonel W.R. Martin served in the Indian mutiny campaign of 1857-58 ; was present with the sSth Foot at the
.assault and capture of Meeangunge, siege and capture of Lucknow, and affairs of Barree and Nuggnr (Medal with
Clasp). Served with the 19th Punjaub Infantry in China the campaign of 1S60 (Medal). Served with the 3rd
Punjaub Infantry throughout the Sittana Expedition in 1863 (Medal with Clasp); and afterwards with General
Wilde's Column against the Judon Tribes.
"' Colonel W. Rowlandson served in the Indian mutiny campaign in 1857-58, and was present at the actions
of Seerowlie and Ghurra, and reoccupation of Humeerpore (Medal).
'^ Lt.Colonel H. R. Elliot was employed on field service in the Raichore Doab from 4th June to sthAugust 1858.
"^ Lt.Colonel R. M. Chambers served with his regiment against the Taepings near Shanghai, and was present at
the storming and capture of the entrenched camp at Wang-kaza 4th April 1862, and of the town of Tseerpoo 17th
April, at Nazean 27th and 29th AprU 1862, at the storming of the town of Tsingpoo 12th May, and with the garrison
defending Kahding in May 1862.

rebellion amongst the Hill Tribes of the Cuttack Tributary Mahals.
1" Lt.Colonel L. E. Evans served throughout the Indian mutiny campaign in 1858-59 with the 3rd Bengal European
Regiment, and was present with the Mynpooree Movable Column in the operations at Sheraghur Ghat, and with
the Agra Column towards Gwalior. Served also with the Column under Brigadier Showers in the action of Dewsa
against Tantia Topee (Medal).
'** Colonel J. M. Stewart served in the Jynteah Hills during the rebellion of 1862-63, S'^'l ^'^^ present at the
assault and capture of the stockades of Ookis, Mugbarai, and Oomkrong.
'^' Lt Colonel H. R. Wintle served in the Indian mutiny campaign (Medal).
"' Lt.Colonel A. J. Howes served with the Kurnool Movable Column and Saugor Field Division, and was present
at the storming of the fort of Ruteea 13th November 1858 (Medal).
•" Colonel B. Venour served as a volunteer with the loth Foot against the Dinapore mutineers atArrah in
1857 and was severely wounded (Medal). Served with the right column Doar Field Force in 1865-66.
'« Lt.Colonel F. D. Plowden served during the Indian mutiny campaign of 1858-59, and accompanied General
Frank's Column on the Oude frontier, and was engaged at the capture of Attrowlee (Medal).

'*' Colonel J. I. Robinson served with the 2nd Punjaub Cavalry at the final siege and capture of Lucknow
and at the affair of Koorsee; and with the 9th Lancers in the Rohilcund campaign, including the actions of
Rooya and Allygunge, capture of Bareilly, and affairs of Shahjehanpore and Mohumdee (Medal with Clasp).
1^1 Lt.Colonel J. Johnstone served with the Trans-Gogra Field Force under Brigadier Rowcroft in 1858-59 (Medal).
'^^ Lt.Colonel W. F. Bartleman served with the 13th Light Infantry in the Indian mutiny campaign in 1858, and
was present at the actions of Almorah on the 17th and 25th April, and at the storming and capture of the fort
of Nuggur (Medal). Served during a part of the Cossiah rebellion, and commanded a Company of the 43rd Bengal
N. I. at the attack and capture of the stockaded village of Moonsowpoonje in the Jj'nteah Hills on the 22nd March 1862.
15* Lt.Colonel C. S. Steward was employed during the Indian mutiny, and was present at the action of Itrowlea
with Kooer Sing's rebel force on the 21st March 1858 (wounded), and at the sortie from the fort of Azimghur 27th
March, also at the taking of Jugdespore and at the engagements of Beliea, Peeroo, twice at Muttahee, DuUepore,
Ceswah, Rujapore Gamur, and the final ejectment of the rebels from the Jugdespore Jungles between May and
June 1858 (Medal).
'55 Lt.Colonel J. H.W. Osborne served with the 73rd Foot in Brigadier Rowcroft's Column during the campaign in
the Terai, from the 4th November 1858 to July 1859, and was present at the attack by the rebels on the column of
Major Ross, and in some minor affairs (Medal).
156 Lt.Colonel C. JIartin served in the Indian mutiny campaigns of 1857-58 and was present with the 14th Light Dra¬
goons with the Malwa Field Force at the capture of IJhar, and actions of Mundesore—severely wounded (mentioned
iu despatches. Medal). Served in the Abyssinian c.impaign in i858 as Aide de Camp to Brigadier D. M Stewart,
and with the 12th Bengal Cavalry at the capture of Magdala (Medal).
'58 Lt.Colonel J. L. Loch served with the 2nd Dragoon Guards at the siege and capture of Lucknow in March 1858,
and during the subsequent operations in Oude (Medal with Clasp).
'53 Lt.Colonel R. C. Stewart served with a party of the Mysore Silladar Horse attached to the Kurnool Movabia
Column and was present at the attack on'Shorapore on the 8th February 1858, on which occasion he was
dangerously wounded by two sword cuts; also commanded a detachment of the 4th Cavalry Hyderabad Contin¬
gent with I^rigadier Hill's Field Force in the Taptee Valley, in Berar, and in the Deccan from .November 1858 till
March 1859 (Medal).
160 Lt.Colonel R.C. Low served in the Sonthal cfimpaign in 1855. Served throughout the Indian mutiny campaigns
of 1857-59; present at the actions of Budlee-ke-Serai and Nudjufghur, and siege and capture of Delhi; pursuit of the
rebels and taking of Fort Jhnjjur; siege and capture of Lucknow; and as Brigade Major to the Agra Field Force
under Brigadier Showers in pursuit of rebels in Central India (twice mentioned in despatches. Medal with tw 1
Clasps).
'62 Lt.Colonel A. R. D. Mackenzie served in the Indian mutiny campaigns in 1857-58, and was present during the
siege and assault of Delhi with the Guide Cavalry, and with Brigadier Showers' Column in tha Delhi, Goorgaon
and Jhujjur districts. Served with the ist Sikh Cavalry at the siege and capture of Luoknow (wounded), and was
present at the action of the Moosa Bagh (Medal with two Clasps).
'6* Major C. E. Stack served with the Kotah Ccptingent against the insurgents in the Agra and Muttra
districts in May and June 1857; and as Aide de Cam p to General Polwhele at the battle of Agra on the 5th July
1857 (Medal).
165 Lt.Colonel W. S. A. Lockhart served with the 5th Fusiliers in Oude in December 185S and January 1859. Served
the Bhootan campaign of 1864-66 as Adjutant 14th Bengal Lancers (Medal with Clasp).'Served as Aide de Camp
to Brigadier General Merewether commanding Cavalry Brigade in the Abyssinian campaign, and was present at
Arogee ami the fall of Magdala (mentioned in despatches. Medal). Served as D.A.Q.M. General 2nd Brigade
with Hazara Field Force in the Black Mountain Expedition (mentioned in despatches, Clasp). Served iu the
Afghan war in 1879-80 as Assistant Quarter Master General to Major General Roberts's Division, and was present
